During the journey, Sheinbaum reported that the civil work of the track is already practically completed and that the train has about 92 percent of general progress. He explained that what remains to be completed are signaling work, the construction of pedestrian bridges that connect directly to the stations and the stage of technical tests of the railway system.

The Dairy-AIFA branch will have an approximate length of 23.7 kilometers and will be integrated into the Suburban Train that departs from Buenavista. Once in operation, the trip from Buenavista to the AIFA will take about 40 to 43 minutes, with trains that will leave every 15 minutes, which will offer a faster and more comfortable option compared to road transfer.

Sheinbaum highlighted the role of the military engineers and the Ministry of National Defense, who assumed the responsibility of concluding the work to ensure that it was delivered in a timely manner. As announced by the president, the service to the public is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026, with the goal that it will be operating no later than the Easter period of that year.

With this train, the federal government hopes to benefit more than 80,000 daily passengers, reduce airport transfer times and consolidate AIFA as an air terminal better connected to Mexico City and the State of Mexico.
